Boys & Girls Town of Missouri’s Empowering Youth program was created to address the needs of homeless youth in Southwest Missouri. Our mission is to provide the support and guidance homeless youth need to transition to safe and stable homes. Empowering Youth focuses on the opportunity to create positive change in the midst of crisis. Our goal is to empower homeless youth through access to community resources, a safe environment and a supportive staff.

AIDS Project of the Ozarks (APO) is a non-profit community-based organization serving a 29 county region in southwest Missouri. APO currently serves over 600 clients with HIV/AIDS and their families.

OLGA’s mission is to document the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) experience in the Ozarks region. The Special Collections and Archives Department encourages prospective donors to assist us in preserving this often overlooked, hidden, and neglected aspect of Ozarkiana by donating their materials to the Ozarks Lesbian and Gay Archives.

Lambda Organization  is a group of LGBT faculty and staff that meet monthly to socialize, work on issues that affect all LGBT people on campus, and to encourage faculty, staff and student engagement.  We want to create a safe zone for our LGBT student to know about us, and to be visible role models for that population.

Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays (PFLAG) is a national non-profit organization with over 200,000 members and supporters and over 500 affiliates in the United States. We meet on every third Sunday of the month at the National Avenue Church, 1515 National Avenue, Springfield, MO at 3:00 PM.
