NAMI-KC is the only organization which specifically supports the mentally ill and the family members of the mentally ill throughout the greater Kansas City area. NAMI-KC serves as an information center, including referrals on services needed. We provide educational seminars and reference materials related to mental illness.

The Organization Intersex International (OII) is the world’s largest intersex advocacy organization. OII’s mission is to attain human rights for intersex infants, children, and adults, particularly the right to bodily intergrity and self-determination.
OII-USA’s mission is to campaign for the human rights of all intersex people, to support intersex individuals by providing information and contact with other intersex people, to provide information concerning actual life experiences of people with intersex variations to those working with people with atypical sex anatomy, and to assist family and friends of intersex individuals in understanding intersex variations and their role as allies.

At Pathways, we’re giving young adults who are homeless or living in out-of-home care the chance to develop the life skills they need to be successful. The Pathways Program operates scattered-site apartments in Kansas City and Wichita. It serves young men and women, as well as young parents with children.

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) promotes the health and well being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons, their families, and their friends through support, education, and advocacy. PFLAG provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. Since 1973 parents have joined together in different cities to support each other and their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) children or family members. We meet the third Saturday of the month at the Holy Communion Episcopal Church, located (two blocks east of Hanley Road) at 7401 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri 63130. We begin our meetings at 7:00 pm and usually end around 10:00 pm.

PFLAG-KC is a group of parents, siblings, friends, and LGBT people who provide a support system for the families and friends of LGBT people to enable them to understand, accept and support their children with love and pride, provide education for individuals and the community at large on the nature of homosexuality, and support the full human and civil rights of LGBT people.
